Our festival is named after Tailtiu, the Fir Bolg foster mother of Lugh. Her name means The Great One of the Earth: a personification of the Land itself. Tailtiu is the original Goddess of the harvest, her spirit remaining in the last sheaf of grain. Tailtiu was the last Irish Queen of her kind: a feminine energy that felt the longing of humanity. Her spirit lives on at Greyhaven, as it has ever since our first festival in Her honor. Let us give due recognition this Lughnassadh to Taitiu, for without her, an abundant harvest, both materially and in our spirits, would not be realized!
The theme this year is responsibility. Our responsibility to each other, to use our gifts wisely an to the land that sustains us. We hope you enjoy our event!
